Guest information about The Green Key
Welcome! You are staying at a hotel that has received The Green Key. This is an international environmental award that certifies that this hotel has an environmental policy and is actively working on environmental improvements. They have fulfilled international criteria and been approved by the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation. The award is valid for twelve months.

How is the environment improved?
Accommodations must fulfil the international criteria that cover different management areas. They include environmental education sessions for all personnel, recycling, low energy lighting and environmentally friendly cleansing and washing products, as well as offering ecologically grown food.

Who is granting The Green Key Award?
The Green Key is an international environmental award programme run by the international organisation Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). This is an organisation that has several environmental programs (eg the Blue Flag Award and Eco Schools) and exists in 63 countries around the world. All countries
follow the same international criteria which guarantee that if you choose a Green Key accommodation in France it follows the same criteria as in Sweden and other countries.

The Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation is responsible for FEE programs in Sweden. All certified accommodations are reviewed regularly by the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation to ensure that they fulfil the criteria. The members of the Swedish steering group for The Green Key are Natures Best/ International Ecotourism Society, Swedish Association of Eco-municipalities, Swedish Association of Campsite Managers and the Swedish Hotel and Restaurant Association.

The Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation works towards reducing litter, promoting recycling, and raising environmental awareness.
